Beach-July 2011

I have to say that the beach, any beach, is probably our favorite place....ever! I know that there are plenty of folks that feel the same way! This year, the beach was different. Rhys had a blast! We had a blast watching and playing with him! Different than normal, but a great different! I often wonder, what the heck did we do with our time before Rhys? Weren't we so bored? Ahhhh...I just can't imagine life without this little guy!

On to beach pictures...

Our first night there. About to eat at sea n suds! Our favorite!!

Loving the sand

10 months

Rhys turned 10 months at the beach this past week. The time just keeps ticking away so fast, but...that's life and we are enjoying every minute of this precious time with him! He has the sweetest personality and keeps us entertained all day everyday!

A few things about this ball of energy...

He has 8 teeth and is currently cutting number 9! This has been pretty tough on him:(

He walks around the ottoman and along with his walking toys..

He pulls up on everything and is starting to stand halfway up without holding on to anything then he grabs whatever is closest to him!

He loves to be held, especially when he is teething..he gets super clingy.

Keeps his electric toothbrush pretty close, but doesn't really have a favorite toy.

Loves to play with his cousin Audrie..she doesn't really know what to think, but he has fun with it!

He really loves the water..not just the beach...bath water, the water hose, sprinkler...loves it all and that makes us beyond happy!!!

He tries to stand alone but I think he gets nervous and excited at the same time...then sits back down! Precious boy!

He likes to dance!! When music come on, he does this super cute bounce..when we say "go Rhy Rhy" he bounces faster!

He knows how to pitch a good fit when you tell him "no" or take something from him! It's not pretty, and we are starting to just let him cry it out. It is much worse when he is teething, as is everything else:(

All in all, he is really a happy boy that is pretty laud back the majority of the time. I love seeing his personality develop.

9 months

So...I have decided to start with 9 months and go from there with my blogging. I have downloaded the blogpress app in hopes that it will make posting faster and easier! We will see how that goes:) Our sweet, precious baby boy is 9 months old already! I really cannot believe that in 3 months he will be a year old! NOT a baby anymore:( He is all over the place and into anything a 9 month old can get into! It seems like the words "no, no" get used so much these days! I have to say that this is my favorite stage so far. I sometimes catch myself just watching to see what he will get into next! Children are just the most amazing gift ever!

On Friday, we went to Dr. Meyers for our 9 month check up. No shots this time (thank goodness) He weighed in at 23.4 lbs! I think he will linger here for a while. He is just growing taller. With the smallest little waist I am willing to bet he will look just like Brett...tall and slim:) He had his iron checked at the doctor. The pricking of his finger did not phase him at all...as soon as she put that band aid on his thumb...straight to the mouth it went and a few seconds later I was pulling it out! Here he is with his band aid on his little finger and those poor poor tired eyes!

For the past 2 weeks he has been cutting 4 top teeth. Bless him. It has really been rough on the little guy.. the top middle and left of the middle are in all the way..the other two (middle and right of middle) are pushing through the skin..actually the outer one might be in but I have not been brave enough today to check! Holy moly..6 teeth already! It's a good thing because the bottle is becoming a thing of the past for us! This man wants to eat and he eats just about everything we eat..within reason of course! He is waving and it makes me cry everytime he does it! So precious!

I will leave with a father's day picture...or 2:)

Brett is an amazing dad. I always knew he would be, but it is just so awesome to watch it play out in front of me everyday! I couldn't ask for a more understanding, patient and loving dad for Rhys and husband for me. And Rhys is absolutely in love with him too! Happy Father's Day, babe! We love you more than you know!

Teeth:)

I knew I was going to be a bad blogger before I started...it's really sad that I haven't posted about anything since January! Believe me, I have tons of pictures I just will NOT make the time. I had to share this major news.....

We have a tooth! Rhys cut it in his sleep last Thursday night! The other one is right behind it and will be in any day now!

He is getting too big, too fast!

5 month post, 6 month stats, and TONS of pics to come soon!

Carrots

This past Thursday we had our first successful day on solids! We have been trying rice for a while and he pretty much hates it! A couple of weekends ago we tried carrots for the first time. He would take a few bites and then he would be over it!

Thursday was a change! I gave him some carrots at lunch and it was like a light switch had been turned on! He doesn't have it totally figured out yet...when you bring the spoon to his mouth he sticks his tounge out and opens his mouth. Seriously the cutest thing!
I absolutely love this kid! It's crazy the things that make you happy once you have a little one!

A picture to capture the big man chowing down!!!

4 months!

4 months already?! I am starting to realize that time really does fly when babies are young! Believe me I am taking it all in. I absolutely have the best job in the world! Who could ask for more than to stay at home and play with your child ALL day?!! I am so blessed and thankful. (love you babe!)

The new year has been pretty relaxed around our house! My mom stayed with us for about 2 weeks. We loved having her around and Rhys adores her! After she left I felt like I had to re-introduce myself to him!

Aunt Mo got Rhys a hat for Christmas! Brett and I refer to it as the "grandpa hat". Before he was born, she was in Europe for the summer. She hooked him up with all kinds of H&M gear and one thing was a sweater that Brett and I refer to as...you guessed it the "grandpa sweater"! I swear she is trying to dress him like a 75 year old man! To make matters worse, he is balding pretty bad! (Seriously, the hat and the sweater are both precious!) When she was visiting last week she had to have a picture with him and his hat!

He sure does love her and she is pretty smitten with him I do believe! Morg, I know you are reading this! Please don't ever leave us! You wouldn't get to see this beautiful face anytime you wanted to!

At 4 months... we are not sitting or rolling over consistently...but boy are we trying! He has rolled over from stomach to back several times but, I think they were all by accident..He will get it when it's time!

He laughs so much. This makes Brett and I cry everytime! Will that ever change?!

We have started teething:( Poor guy just wants you to sit down and rub his gums! Also, bc of the teething his clothes stay soaked because he is a drool machine!

We had to go to the doctor on Saturday bc he has a little head congestion. He weighed it at 18.8 lbs! and 28 in long! Geez Louise!

He got a Baby Einstein play station for Christmas and has just fallen in love with it this week! I sit beside it the whole time he plays. ( I feel bad if I don't give him all of my attention...this will probably bite me in the butt soon!)

He likes playing in the walker if someone pushes him around! Kinda defeats the purpose of a walker huh? He's only 4 months old I have to keep telling myself!
Tummy time has become his favorite position! We stay on our stomach so much during the day. Max like to join us for these times!

That's all I can think of for now! I will leave you with some precious-ness:)

First Christmas!

We had Christmas at our house this year! Christmas Eve we had Brett's family down for dinner and gifts. Rhys was awake for the entire thing, dinner and gifts!

After dinner Gran got some love time with Rhys! He was eating it up and so was she!

Notice Rhys has clothes on in the earlier pictures...you will see this change! I swear he is the most hot natured baby! He loves to be naked!
Here he is sitting on top of his mound of gifts!
Opening his first gift! BOOKS! Can never have enough of these!

Now, we had to shed some clothes! He got hot and when he gets hot he is NOT happy! After the clothes came off he was a different child! He was ready to stand up and open gifts!
So precious!

Some time with Max and Dad!

With Brett's precious grandparents! They are in love!

Christmas morning we had our Christmas with Rhys before my dad came over to make omlets:) Seriously, one of our favorite parts of Christmas day!
Rhys got a frog pillow mat and he absolutely loves it! He will lay on it for so long looking at his light up toy or the fan!

He was pretty excited about this!
Digging down deep in his stocking:)
My family came over for lunch Christmas Day.
This is what Rhys did the entire time we were opening gifts! Poor guy was worn out!
Still sleeping...

Not waking up anytime soon!

Rhys' first Christmas was a success and a super fun time for Brett and I! New Year's was pretty simple this year! We stayed in and watched the weather! Life has changed, but definately for the better! Rhys has made us doubt any year can be better than 2010, but we know the years to come will be so fun! So thankful for everything God has blessed us with this past year especially our precious boy! He is the light of my life for sure!
Happy 2011 everyone!
