3 Months:)

I really can't believe Rhys is already 3 months old. I have to be honest, at 2 weeks I didn't think I would make it! But here we are! He is absolutely precious! He laughed out loud for the first time Friday night and I cried my eyes out! It is the sweetest sound ever! Brett was playing with Max and Rhys was watching and just started laughing! Ahhhh....such a blessing! He did a little laugh for me today, and another big one tonight when I was throwing Max's toy! I am so blessed to be able to stay at home with him! Everyday is something new!

Here are a few more things that he is doing these days:

he loves to suck on his hands! keeps them at his mouth all of the time!


when he gets excited he kicks super hard and throws his hands around. sometimes I think he is going to fly out of his bouncy seat! so funny to watch him do this!

loves his bath time with dad! and I swear it is the highlight of Brett's day too!

he takes 6 ounces of formula and a rice bottle before bed. my niece is 7 months and takes 6 ounces! this is crazy to me! I think baby food is in our near future!

tummy time is growing on him. before he would scream to be flipped over. now he can handle it in spurts!

he LOVES to stand up! I swear he would do it all day.

he tries so hard to sit up when he is laying in his boppy! poor guy just wants to get up and go!

Lately

On Friday December 10, Brett, Rhys and I flew to Las Vegas to see my brother get married! Some might think we were crazy to take our 3 month old on a plane, across the country, but we were really comfortable with our decison to go! We love traveling toooo much, so we knew Rhys would have to adapt to that! He did amazing on the plane. He slept most of the time and when he did wake up he wanted to look around and check things out! Such a good baby! We seriously couldn't ask for him to be any better!

My mom has been living in Palm Springs, CA. So, onn Sunday Brett, Rhys, mom and I drove to Palm Springs from Vegas. Brett flew home Monday afternoon, but Rhys and I stayed until Thursday. Mom flew back with us so I wouldn't have to fly by myself with Rhys and for Christmas of course! I loved California and think Rhys did too! It was really warm when we were there so he loved being outstide! Then we came back home to 40 degree weather! But hey, it's Christmas right?! I will leave you with a few pictures of the California man himself!

Holidays!

We love the holidays around our house! I think it is because Brett and I love to shop so much and the holidays give us a good excuse to do just that! Sad I know! This year it is just so much better because we have a precious man to go crazy and buy for! The thing that stinks is Rhys is only 2 months so there is not too many "awesome" things to buy for him as Brett says! So, he will just get alot of little cool things!

This year we decided to have everyone on both sides of our families at our house for Thanksgiving and Christmas! Thanksgiving was a blast with all of the parents and grandparents here playing with the babies! I will definately want to start this tradition! Can't wait for Christmas! I really didn't take too many pictures which I am bummed about bc I was trying to prepare the food! (yes i cooked!),but I managed to squeeze a few in. Brett's dad took several and I am super thankful for that!

We have sucessfully decorated the house for Christmas! Not as much as last year, but needless to say we have more to take up our time these days! Pictures of Rhys with the tree to come soon, but for now I will leave with a picture of the Max and the tree still strapped to the car! Brett had to get this picture and give Max some camera time seeing that the little guy has taken up most of it lately:)

November 2010

Fast forward a couple of months and we are to November. It is so hard to believe that Rhys is 2 months old! He is smiling all of the time these days and Brett and I are just eating it up! My dad was over the other day and Rhys was tickled at everything dad had to say! Of course, my dad was grinning from ear to ear too! I loved these pictures so much I used one for our Christmas cards!

I know I am 2 months late, but better late than never, right?!

Brett and I checked into the hospital on September 15th at 5:30 pm to start the labor process and boy was it a long one! When I went to the doctor on Tuesday of this same week we found out that Rhys weighed 9.8 lbs and I was only dialated 2 cm :( Instead of waiting until the next Thursday to induce, we decided since the little guy weighed so much that we should go ahead and get him out! Dr. Ory inserted a balloon Wednesday night at around 7 in an attempt to make me dialate...didn't work very well. The next morning I was still at 2 cm and my contractions had started in the middle of the night! Talk about uncomfortable! The day clicked on and I only made it to 4 cm before we decided to go ahead and do the section! And at 4:26 my sweet little man was born! None of us were expecting to meet a 10 lb baby, we all thought maybe 8lbs because Dr. Ory said that the weight they told us Tuesday was probably overestimated! Boy was she wrong! We were so thankful for a healthy, 10 lb boy!

Rhys Russell Dyess

On September 16, 2010 at 4:26 pm we welcomed the most beautiful baby boy! Weighing in at a whopping 10 lbs. 1 oz. and 22 3/4 in long, Rhys came out wearing 3-6 month clothes and has not stopped growing since! Life has changed so much for Brett and I, but neither of us would have it any other way and cannot imagine life without this little fellow! Pictures to come soon! Can't wait to share this little guy with y'all!
